Without a doubt, you’ve been told this lie before.
You’re trying to get more leads and customers from the Internet so when you reach out to the experts, most tell you the same thing…
You Need More Traffic!
Most likely, this is a big lie because the “expert” you talked to either specializes in SEO, paid traffic, or social media so all they really know how to do is get more traffic.
Do you want to know the truth?
Do you want to know what you actually need?
You need more CONVERSIONS!
Sounds obvious, but I’m talking about a different kind of conversions than you’re probably thinking about.
What you really need are more conversions in the form of “micro-commitments”.
These micro-commitments are what move people down the path from just being traffic, to becoming leads, and ultimately, to becoming buyers and your customers.
So what kind of micro-commitments are you presenting to people?
Once people find you online, what do you want them to do?
Here’s what I recommend.
First, get them to further engage with your business by presenting them with an offer for a lead magnet that addresses a very specific problem they have.
In exchange for this lead magnet, they provide you with their email address and join your list.
Now, you can take them through an Indoctrination email campaign that allows you to present your business to them the way you want it presented.
At the same time, you can take them through an Engagement email campaign that presents a specific Tripwire offer related to the Lead Magnet they received.
Now, look what starts to happen here.
You’re sending these campaigns over a specific time period, and you’re training that person to open and engage with your email content.
These are micro-commitments.
At some point, you’re going to send them a Tripwire offer that causes some of them to reach into their pocket, pull out their credit card, and make a purchase.
Nothing big – maybe a $10 or $20 purchase.
Again, another micro-commitment.
Then, you’re going to start sending them an Ascension email campaign that presents a related Core Offer.
Some are going to take this Core Offer and make another purchase from you.
Your business revenue is not overflowing from the payments for the Tripwire and Core Offers, but you’ve now accomplished three things:
- You took website visitors and got some of them to make micro-commitments to your business by engaging with your emails and making small purchases
- You’ve proven you can deliver value and put your initial buyers into the right frame of mind to learn about your Profit Maximizing offers
- You’ve created a “self-liquidating offer” process that means you can now pay for an unlimited amount of traffic
Do you see how making more CONVERSIONS actually enables you to get more TRAFFIC?
Starting with traffic first will only deplete your advertising budget with minimal results.
