In 2009, Harriet Zaffoni started Ugandan Merchandise as a way to bring home and fashion items produced in East Africa to customers in the U.S.
The company has a special relationship with HIV/AIDS victims in Rwanda, all of whom are women. These women are basketweavers and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their baskets goes directly to them to pay for food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities.
Accelerated Online implemented a new, custom website design along with original content using WordPress and migrated the product catalog from an existing ecommerce provider.
The new website features an overview of Uganda and the purpose of Ugandan Merchandise along with an online store and photo gallery.
