Whether you’re actually spending money on getting clients or just running around trying to find them, you’re client-getting activity has an ROI.
Trading your time to hunt down new clients is never efficient for two reasons:
- You’re using up time which you’ll never get back
- You’re more likely to say “Yes” to a prospect who may not be even a close fit for your business
Most coaches and consultant are in this position through no fault of their own – they’ve just never learned how to instantly boost their client-getting ROI.
Part of this is a mindset shift.

This is because you’re spending so much time setting up appointments and meeting with people who are not your ideal client.

I used to think that way too…
And it led to a trap.
By doing this I set a trap for my business by having a number of unrelated clients who all wanted something similar, but I couldn’t create any leverage in my business.
Every project was like starting over again.
This was fixable though, and once I decided to target a specific market, things became much easier.
It’s difficult to just network and market to exactly the ideal prospect you want to be working with.
You can find an easier path by networking with others in related fields and wait for referrals, but that’s exactly what it is – a waiting game.
The best option (and the one that changed my business) was creating a system to market directly to my target audience day and night, 24/7, 365 days a year.
Then, I’m only having appointments with prospects whom I’ve specifically targeted.
The flow is completely up to me based on how much advertising spend I want to commit.
Now, you may be thinking that it would be hard for you to spend money on advertising.
But think about it this way…
How much money are you LOSING every month by not advertising.
This can easily be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
