Gmail is a great email client due to its storage capacity, search capability, and filtering. I use a single Gmail account to send and receive emails for a variety of email addresses.
A great feature of Gmail is the ability to send email from an email address other than your Gmail address. Here are instructions on how to set up an external email address. You’ll need to be able to access the email address you want to send from so you can verify the own it.
1. Login to your Gmail account at www.gmail.com
2. Click on Settings in the upper right corner of the screen:
3. From the Settings menu, click on Accounts and Import:
4. In the Send mail as section, click on the Send mail from another address button:
5. Enter the email address from which you want to send:
4. Click on Next Step
5. On the next page, choose to send email through Gmail and click on Next Step:
6. On the next screen, verify that you own the email address you specified by clicking Send Verification:
7. Gmail will send you an email to the email address you specified that contains a confirmation code:
8. Enter the confirmation code in the box provided and click Verify:
9. The new email address now appears in the Send mail as list
10. You can specify which email address is the default email address from the Settings > Accounts and Import page
